Work at home

Options
Hi

Sorry if this is in the wrong place and I know this has probably been asked many times before but I want to start working from home to earn a bit of extra money to help pay the bills or treat myself etc. I know there are many bogus scams out there so wont sign up to any of them and lose my money but am happy to pay a small amount to get the bits I need to get started and expand gradualy from there if it gets going well enough.

Can anyone help advise me what sort of stuff sells and where? I am prepared to make up batches and sell at craft fairs or perhaps boot sales and party plans if its more profitable.

Thanks in advance.

:)

  • What are you making batches of? If it is crafts type items then Etsy is a reasonable starting place.

You will struggle to find people that have great ideas of where to buy things cheap and where to sell them for high profits that will share them as by doing so they are creating a competitor for themselves and suppliers & knowing what sells well are generally well guarded secrets that they paid money and time to findout

As above plus what sells in one area wont sell in another you have to look at YOUR target market.

Start with a few pieces of each thing you think will sell and build on that.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

The craft market is saturated at the moment - every man and his dog seems to be making something to try and sell on Etsy, Folksy, Ebay etc.

Party plan wise there is Jamie at Home - there is a small outlay of around £100 to get started and you will be sent a kit worth £400 and you organise parties for people and sell the kitchen products and get commission. He looks after his teams well too - I know someone who sells it and she seems to have done and is still doing quite well. At least with this you won't have huge boxes of stuff lying about like you will with other things e.g. Avon
