redundancy advice

Hi my wife has worked part time 15.5 hours for 4 and a half years. Looks like she will be made redundant in 11 weeks just wondered do you still get 13 weeks pay from the government. Also can my wife claim jsa.

Why would she get 13 weeks pay from the government - she isn't even entitled to that from the employer! Four weeks notice period which she may have to work, and redundancy payment for four years service (depending on her age)

I thought there was a notice period that somebody paid as well

No - there is just a notice period and you may be required to work your notice, just like any other situation.

You are probably thing of the situation where a company goes bust and has no money to pay its workers, in which case the Redundancy Payments Office will make statutory payments (not sure whether this includes PILON though).

It includes notice - but it isn't 13 weeks worth unless that is what you are due. And the Op wouldn't be with 4 years service.
