I am fully intending to give it a go. However, you do not here much in the press about people using the Law to teach the spammers a lesson, so was wondering if many people actually made use of the legislation.

Probably because the law is usually complex. I imagine most people complain via the ICO

Claim compensation for receiving one email. Not a very good get rich quick scheme.

Usually its the ISP or large companies that sue them because they have clogged up the email servers.
