Well the letter states I have to pay by 19th jan else then it will b cancelled. I have a manager calling back today if no joy I will cancel an set up new ins with someone else. They want £200 to cancel it.0

If you cancel owing them money they might not send you notification of no claims.
So when you come to insure the car again your starting from scratch.
They will chase you for the payment also. Really is a good idea to grovel to them and see what they will do for you.
As above dont let them cancel the policy you must declare that when you renew and it wont help your prices.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Doubt it.
You will still have to pay the cancellation charges if you cancel the policy yourself, but won't have a cancelled policy to disclose to other insurers.
Hopefully your grovel will do the trick, but if this does end up with you cancelling, then do it in writing, keep a copy and send your certificate back with the cancellation letter, and make sure they get it before the deadline date they have given you!0
