KGB Deals - River Fortune

Guess I am not alone in having purchased a voucher for a meal for two at the River Fortune Restaurant in Leeds from KGB Deals in Mid December. Voucher shows valid until 24th March 2012. When I came to book the restaurant phone just goes to answer machine and no one returning calls. Tried to call into restaurant but appears its no longer there, tried restaurant web site, nothing on there other than the restaurant name!

Am assuming a refund from KGB Deals should be pretty straight forward? Anyone had any experience of obtaining a refund from them? Is it a case of emailing customer support? Or does anyone have a contact number.

I have bought numerous vouchers from Groupon and had no problems to date, this is first time using KGB Deals - have I just been unlucky?:o

it seems to have a good reputation, so short of it going bust (in which case KHb would have your money anyway) then it might just be an extended closure over Christmas. My local Indian for example doesnt open until 12th. Is it near enough to call in, have they ceased trading? Otherwise I wouldnt panic.

I bought the ski goggles from Brand Arena as a xmas gift but they are not suitable - I have e-mailed KGB 3 times to ask about a refund - do thry give refunds - but they have failed to respond . I have also e-mailed Brand Arena and again not reply. Does anyone have a phone contact number for KGB deals? . Don't think I will ever buy anything again as this is my first purchase from KGB deals

Hi - no its not extended closure! the restaurant name has gone and premises now have new name, and its apparently dishing up different cusine (thai....) that said that wasn't open either. I read somewhere that River Fortune has been sold.... funny because there is a restaurant up at Oakwood called Fortune River that also appears to have closed down since December.....
Well here is my progress report on obtaining a refund. I emailed them and no response. Today I went on the website and filled out some kind of contact form.... detailing whats wrong. Again no response to date. Can we take guesses as to how long it will take them to reply?

Hi. Did you fill out their standard form too? I got holding response back (automated) giving a reference number but thats it.

I would have thought that given how popular these type of sites are (KGB and Groupon) they would be quick to nip any issues in the bid. I understand that until you actually redeem an offer that they hold the money anyway so cant see what the issue is???

I work over the road from the said "River Fortune" - and was annoyed to see that it had closed down the day after i purchased numerous vouchers from KGB deals. The intention was to take so many colleagues after work one evening. Within a few days it had changed its name to Aroma - specialising in Thai food - although Thai is spelt wrong on the side of the builiding (Thia)!!! It is never open and i have tried in vain to catch someone there (looking out of my work window) but no such luck. I have googled KGB deals contact number or customer service to which i cannot find. Please can someone help me or point me in the right direction. Thanks
