fit kitchen first or sort out door

Hi, we are due to get a kitchen fitted, but have a problem with the kitchen door. Builder hasn't fit it properly and it needs plastering around it/architrave and painting. Plus we may change the door at some point - its a fire door so if we change to a normal door we may need to change the casing.
If we paint/fit the rest of the kitchen and leave this part til later will it be a pain in the !!!! to blend in paint or should we do this first and then fit at a later date. Ideally I would do that but then may have to wait til March for the fitters next available slot!

My experience is that if you use a roller on the walls, then it is easy to patch. I had some cracks appear in the hall ceiling, so I scraped them out, filled, sanded, and painted using a mini roller. You cannot tell that the cracks were painted several months after the rest of the ceiling. In fact one crack is now invisible, and the other is a ridge. I used a matt paint (Dulux) and it is possible that silk paint is less forgiving.
By the way, hanging a door is not that hard if you are careful and do not have two left hands (or two right hands, if you are left handed). Mind you, a fire door could be heavy, so you might need two people. And fixing small holes in plaster is easy using a filler such as Easi-fill, which sands and paints well.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
