Hi, i am abit daft when it comes to work ie. i will get a job, then about 3 months down the line will walk out of it. i know this is extremely stupid of me, but i just cant seem to find a job that best suits me.
as i have a loan to repay, i am really really struggling financially and my social life is now nonexistent as i am currently unemployed. i have been out of work since before christmas, and have applied to lots of vacancies, none of which have got back to me.
i keep getting charges from the bank for missed standing orders, my loan is in arrears and i have not got a penny. i am in a mess and as i am living at home with parents, it is having an effect on them too. nobody is happy in this household. please can someone help?? any suggestions would be much appreciated:o

A lot of people have jobs that they don't like but do it because they need to earn a living, I'm sorry but this is a fact of life.
Maybe you could look at the jobs you've had and what you liked and didn't like and then apply for jobs that focus on the tasks you enjoy. In the mean time just get a job any job and KEEP IT.
I'm a job that I don't particually enjoy but it suits my other needs and pays my bills.0 -
thank you for the advice, i would take any job, its just that how ever many jobs i apply to, i just cant seem to get and i dont know why.

Maybe if you find yourself in a job you don't enjoy, try to make sure you have another one in place before you leave?
Might be an idea to post your SOA for advice on how to cut back etc, may help out a bit.
Hope things get sorted for you soonxx0 -
:hello:
You'll need to take the first job that does come along even if it is a miserable job, Without any income you are not going to get yourself out of this.
Are you on any benefits?
How much is your loan to repay?
Do a soa and we'll be able to help somehow.
You've taken the first step to fixing your problem so well done.
Register with recruitment agencies, go to job centre etc there will be something you can get even if it is minmum wage.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Hi Moneywaster
Ref your bank charges have you started to claim them back?
Go to https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk for wonderful advise.
In the mean time good luck with the job hunt, even if you don't enjoy your next job try to stick with it. It's better to be in a job and still looking

Have you thought of talking to your bank and see if they can help by temporary freezing the loan and charges till you get employed again.. its worth talking to them...
My grandson was in your position up until a week ago , walked out on a job he hated and got in debt by not talking to his bank, living at home with parents who were losing patience with him.. he got his girlfriend to help him with a CV and printed out a hundred copies and hand delivered them to all the local Estate Agents, the result was he got 3 job offers in the first two weeks and has now been working for a week and is thoroughly enjoying it.. they even gave him a little runaround car which was a big shock... they are training him as a lettings agent but of course they give him all the jobs no one else wants to do... but he is enjoying being kept busy and hopefully will make a career out of it.. the pay is rubbish but hopefully he will do better once he manages to do some lettings as they get bonuses...
Its by no means the perfect job but its better than nowt....
A job is not going to fall out of the sky you have to get up and find it... GOOD LUCK#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

It might be that they have seen or are aware of your work record?
Get an agency to do the work for you. Register with some and they will contact you, don't plumb for any old job, as there is no point in hating it, but the agency should be able to point you in the direction of a job that suits more of your likes and less of your dislikes.
You probably need to get a bit of longevity under your belt, when I employ, their history plays a large part. However I have friends who have made a living out of temp contracts because it suits their hours.
Also, bomb any non-essential bills.0 -
You're probably not getting jobs because of your poor work history. you will need to work hard to get another job have you tried temping agencies.0

many thanks!! do you know where i could find information on local job agencies? and how do prospective employers know about your work history?
