with london parking -how long can you stay off peak after 18.00

with london parking -how long can you stay off peak after 18.00

esp in southwark but also central london in general

normaly the max is 4 hours - was wondering if that still applies to after 18.00 when its free --

and does it vary from place to place and would they telll you ? and how do I find out ?

    As long as the car is moved by the time restrictions come back into force the next morning you will be ok. But bear in mind restrictions and times can vary almost on a street by street basis. You could also be on a street where one side is covered by one borough, the other side by a different borough and they have different restrictions in place.

    Just read the signage that is in place and if in doubt look on the local authority websites to check their policy.

  • Single yellows and paid parking bays are usually free after 18:30 but check for times on signposts or visit parkopedia.co.uk which is pretty up to date.

    thanks mate - can anyone else confirm the info ?

    would it actualy say = after 18.30 - free parking doesnt have a 4 hr limit ? cheers

    If you have a single yellow line that has restrictions between 0800 and 1830 then after 1830 you can stay as long as you like. The only restriction would be to ensure the car is moved before the restrictions come into play at 0800 the following day.
