Problems in bedrooms with mould and condensation?
Comments
-
get a extractor fan in the bathroom ; run it for 4-5 hours after a bath or shower
run the extractor in the kitchen for at least an hour or two after cooking
cheap too.
Probably a stupid question , but would excess moisture in kitchens or bathrooms cause mold in other rooms? We get mold in a couple of bedrooms ( detached bungalow ) the property is fully insulated , double glazed . the bedrooms affected get mold whether they are heated all not .
Also would you need a dehumidifyer in each affected room?Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
One dehumidifier would do if you left the doors to the affected rooms open.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

My cellar conversion is warm all the time cos of my dehuymidifer (The cellar room is fully insulated tho)0

The EBAC website FAQ's suggests the average cost of one of their 'smart' dehumidifiers is about 2p per hour when running, but also state that dehumidified air warms up more quickly (though they do not state a figure or percentage reduction in heating costs)
Perhaps others reading who have a dehumidifier and an energy monitor could post some actuals?
I concur. I actually put my washing on a stand BEHIND the dehumidifier in a closed room and the warm air accelerates the drying process while the dehumidifier sucks in the water vapour. Clothes dry twice as quickly as they would otherwise. Links are a man's best friends.com0
