Washing Machine bought from Curry's

Options
I bought a Bosch Washing Machine from Curry's 7 days ago, installed it and started using it. I have found that the spin is not up to scratch and sometimes heavy loads come out quite wet. I reported it to Currys who sent a Bosch Engineer round who found no fault with the machine but said the cheaper Bosch and other models are not being made in Germany any more but in the East to save money and the spin is not the same ie based on load being balanced. OK did not know this and do not want this machine as it is not efficient for me to use. Where do I stand on returning it to Currys as I read that they will not accept a washing machine once it is out of packaging and has been used. I want to upgrade to a more expensive model. Pls Help.

  • If the machine functions as intended you have no right to return if it was bought in store.

From what you've said, if you want to change you'll have to sell it on eBay or the like, and put the extra cash towards something else.

Did you do any research before buying? I went washing machine shopping online, and per chance happened to Google the models of the machines I found. I had to skip about 5 machines, as the reviews were all awful.

I would have thought heavy loads would require another spin, sometimes we have to do that when the washer is full.

As mentioned if bought instore you have no right to a refund, and as its used even if bought online it may be a uphill battle
