gas leak connected to my gas supply?
Does anyone know if this is related to why my gas is being used more quickly or is there no connection at all? I rang the supplier, Southern electric, but they didn't give a satisfactory answer as they couldn't confirm that my gas was being used more because of the cracked pipe opposite.
Thank you

If gas is leaking somewhere else, it's not going through your meter, so won't affect your reported usage.
Prove it by taking a meter reading, not using anything gas powered for a few hours and then taking another reading. There should be no usage reported.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Unless there is a pilot light on boiler - even gas hob.0 -
A lot of key meters are installed to pay off a debt by taking and x amount every so many days. Standing charges will also reduce your credit daily, and then there are pilot lights that use gas. They can be on the boiler, cooker or fire.
What boiler do you have?0 -
Unless there is a pilot light on boiler - even gas hob.
Forgot that - I even have a boiler with a pilot light, so no excuse!
I believe the meters show usage as well as credit, so check your usage OP, not just the remaining credit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. as others already stated the leak would have to be at or after the meter to effect usage not before.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

The leak would only cause a presure dip, it wouldnt effect your meterDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Rush out with a bin liner and try and capture some of the free gas...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Unfortunately, gas is just very expensive. I have a prepayment meter, and on days when I use my oven only to cook (electric oven), and limit my hot water and heating use, I can still use £2 in a day. I once decided to check the meter before and after running a bath. Running said bath cost me 16p in gas! I put my heating on for maybe 3-4 hours a day (couple of hours am, and a couple in the pm) and I'm using around £3.50-£4.50 a day

I remember one of them running around our local town during the war.
It was a Wolseley owned by the local steelworks.
It ran on what was then called Town gas produced in the works.
(The driver absolutely hated it.)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
