DPD Parcel

Evening, I hope I'm posting this in the right place.
I have been dealing with a faulty item from Pure which DPD came and picked up from me a while ago. PURE repaired the item and returned to my address via DPD and this was received.
I have since suffered another fault. Again, DPD picked it up, PURE fixed it and put it on a DPD van, but to my old address (they didnt seek confirmation of any address when returning the parcel). I have since found out that DPD delivered the item to my old address and that this was signed for, but I have no idea who the individual who has signed for the parcel is.
I had called DPD on the day of the delivery after receiving a text telling me the parcel was going to my old postcode. They referred me to PURE, who I called, they took my address and assured me that the parcel would be left on the DPD van, to be returned to the DPD depot for redelivery to my new address the following day. Clearly, this did not happen and a stranger has signed for my parcel and it's no longer traceable.
Do I have a leg to stand on with compensation? If so, who would I look to claim against? Do companies such as PURE have any kind of insurance against incidents such as this?
Thanks for your help
Simon

Not your problem. Pure are liable and you need to contact them.
But, how far away is your old address anyway?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
So, someone has made a mistake.
If Pure made the mistake and sent the thing to the wrong address, then it is clearly an issue for Pure to resolve.
Things are a little bit more difficult if you failed to tell Pure the address that it should be returned to.
I guess this is what happened, and Pure used their initiative, looked back through their records and decided to send it to the address used last time.
They were trying to be helpful and you must accept some responsiblilty for the problem.
Not sure how this gets resolved in this case... other than hoping that Pure can 'do the right thing'.
Whether or not Pure has insurance or not, is of no concern of yours.
If you have any claim against Pure, then it is for them to decide how to handle it... via their insurers (if any) or otherwise.
I cannot see that DPD have done anything wrong.0 -
My new address is about 5 miles away which is why I attempted to get them to change delivery address. Apparently to do that would have been against DPD security policy.
Must say I'm slightly confused why the goods were delivered to my old address since the last time the goods were returned, I gave my contact at PURE my work address. It seems very strange as they must have at least 2 addresses on file for me and this was not queried prior to dispatch.0 -
That's twice now that you have said that Pure did not query your address...simon_blay wrote: »...they didnt seek confirmation of any address when returning the parcelsimon_blay wrote: »...this was not queried prior to dispatch.
If not, then you must accept some of the blame.
I would be thanking Pure for their efforts so far and wait and see if they help you further.
Why not go to your old address and ask for the thing?
As for compensation... for what?0 -

which address did they collect from?0 -
They collected from my work address (and no, I didnt inform Pure of the change of home address, the original return was a year ago so didnt think to say something).0

so why would they query it?
the onus is on you to inform them.0 -

So they sent it to the same address as the original order as you didn't inform them of the change of address? If this is the case then I don't see how PURE are at fault in any way.0
