Aldi Delta Oil Filled Radiator faulty??

Hi, I just bought an Aldi Delta Oil Filled Radiator and even though I am a professional techie (electronics and computing)......I can't get the control panel/thermostat to do what it says!!

Even allowing for poor instructions, the thermostat has a life of its own. In a warm room it finally agreed that it must be less than the test 13c set and turned off, only to turn back on a few minutes later thinking it must be colder than 13...actually 21 degrees!!

The visual promised change between 'desired temperature' and 'actual room temperature' never happens (even though it does say to allow for at least 20 minutes for this to happen.)

There is only one other reference to this on Google.....but has anyone here got experience of this unit please?

I can't believe I picked up a duff one from the pile, especially as I have been pleased with Aldi products in the pass.

TIA

Vigman

PS...and yes, I can take it back...after dismantling the wheels, repacking and driving into a city center after work :mad:

Yes, I get the Aussie website as well!!! I am going to try a swap out today, but with your problem and others, sounds like a duff bunch and will end up with a refund!

If you don't set a temperature and just choose high, medium or low, does your unit flash "88" all the time??

Also does the room temperature ever show rather than desired temperature??

    TIA

I got my money back from Aldi and then went [nearly] next door and bought a 1.5Kw three temperature with thermostat oil filled radiator from Argos at £42. Slightly smaller...but the thermostat works!!!

Take it back to Aldi and tell them its faulty and you want a refund. my bet is they wont argue and just refund your money.
  • I have had the same problem with the radiator, 3 months intermittent LED failure from March 2012, packed the radiator away until this November 2012 , fired up with heat LED still fading out, , finally it gave up the ghost and no matter what I tried auto on, auto off, played with it for about two weeks and no heat at all.. I have to say after phoning the company they were very good, told me to cut off the plug, send it back with receipt and guarantee (£3.75) and asked whether I wanted a replacement (wouldnt be the led version, just standard knob one) or my money back. I opted for the radiator, arrived this morning, within 4 days of sending off plug (thought that was good service), so fingers crossed that this slightly less elaborate looking version stands the test of time.
