What the????

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me, I have received a letter from a company called Sigma, and HSBC in the same envelope, same number to contact on both also. The problem I have is, this was an account I had about 8 years ago, I reclaimed my charges total: £446.74, the account was closed, and because the charges were due to a clerical error from the bank, they also removed the default from my credit file.

Sigma and the letter from someone called Gary Jones, (but no contact number at HSBC just Sigmas number) say the debt was sold on 21st December 2011 for the full amount that I now have to pay, what the heck is going on???

I have all the documentation proving they paid me the money, and there is no default on my file anymore it was removed over 4 years ago.

Hope someone can shed some light on this, it looks like a scam, and that is just naughty.
