Should I ask for another years guarantee?

Hi,

Having an Zanussi washing machine for 7 months now and going wrong 3 times (same fault) the engineer has now give me an uplift number where I can get an exchange for a new one.

Just wondering if anyone who has got these uplift numbers themselves would expect when going back to the retailer.

1 Should I get another 12 months guarantee with the replacement machine?

2 is it possible for the retailer to offer me a different brand of machine?

If you're asking if they are required to provide another years warranty, the answer is no. However that doesnt mean that you can't ask for it.

And technically they can offer repair, replacement or refund (which can be partial). If they were offering a replacement model, it should be of the same spec/price range.

And while you can request one remedy over another, they can refuse if it is disproportionately costly in comparison to other remedies.

I don't know how other retailers deal with them, but for me, you have all your money towards any machine - you would also get a new warranty
