Rossendales help please

I was visited by a bailiff today to has given me 24 hours to pay up or he is removing my partners motorbike from our garden.
I asked him if i could have more time to pay his response was that he could only reasonably give us 4 weeks, to which we explained we are in receipt of benefits since my partner lost his job.
When we asked why we had received no letters informing us we owed money he called us liars and said we had been visited by another bailiff in regards to this.
The only other bailiff that has been to our house was in July last year when we were sorting our benefits out we explained then and also asked the council to take the debt back to which they agreed.
We received a letter informing us of the help we would be getting from the council for council tax benefits and heard nothing more from anyone
Since this rightly or wrongly we assumed we had nothing more to pay
On the notice of distress he has charged us a levy fee but since we didn't let him into our house i dont understand how he can make this charge
Also we haven't signed the walking possession agreement he didn't ask us to sign it, so i'm assuming this doesnt apply to our garden and he can come into our garden at will and take things.
Is there any help we can get at this stage as my partner needs his bike as he has interviews coming up and we live in an extremely rural area so he has no hope of a job unless he can get guaranteed 9-5 hours which severely limits what he can go for.
We have phoned citizens advice and are waiting for an appointment but even this could take up to a week.
We have also offered to pay both the bailiff and rossendales an amount weekly we can afford but rossendales said that it was up to the bailiff to accept the amount which he wont
Sorry if this is long and confusing, im panicking and confused myself

It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

They can charge a levy fee - because he has done a levy on your partners bike (I assume the debt is yours and your partners?).
Someone will hopefully be along with more advice - or you might want to try phoning national debtline (they are open in the evening) or have a read of bailiffadviceonline.

How much do you owe?
How much would you say the bike is worth?I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

We now with all the charges £650 the bike is worth £1000 but apparently any monies over from the bike will go as costs ie storage, auction and removal charges
And theres not enough of a difference to call it excessiveIt is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

What happens if the motorcycle is 'stolen' overnight?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Why not keep the motorbike in the house, a locked garage or at a trusted mates for a little while? If its outside in the garden its a lot easier to take.0
