Nissan discrepancy

When booking my Nissan Note diesel in for it's 20,000 mile (2year) service,I was quoted £386 fixed price by Westway Nissan. This seemed very steep so I got an alternate quote from another Nissan main dealer (Martin's of Winchester) and for the same service they quoted £245.
When I relayed this to Westway they readily agreed to a price match.(In fact the final figure somehow came to £240.01)
Apparently these difference in prices can apply to all Nissan models under three years old. After three years it seems there are standard prices everywhere. Of course this three year thing coincides with the end of the warranty, during which you are tempted to have servicing carried out by a main dealer to ensure the warranty stays valid, but afterwards may go elsewhere, but coincidentally the prices of the main dealers drop then.Surprise.Or am I being too cynical?

Standard pricing between private companies is collusion and illegal. Always shop around for quotes. Tesco don't charge the same for all products in all their stores so why should all car dealers charge the same for a service?

My last service started out at £220, once I price matched it was £170.

A three year warranty in the current market is pathetic. Kia offer a 7 year warranty, Hyundai and Toyota offer a 5 year warranty.

You can get the car serviced at a non-dealer garage provided they use genuine (or is it just OEM quality - can anyone confirm?) parts so that the warranty is maintained. I've found that mentioning this to the dealers sometimes makes them drop their price to be competitive.
