Cheap tickets for Wicked - is it worth it?

Options
Taking my daughter to see Wicked in February as a treat for her birthday.

Have found seats via Ticketmaster at £17.50 each in the stalls section number 38+. Theatre monkey reviews seem to indicate that these are decent enough seats and we would only miss a few bits in the show, but was wondering what others opinions were who have been to the show.

Her first time at a west end show and I want her to really enjoy it.

  • I have seen a handful of West End shows but WICKED is the most AMAZING show I have ever seen :j:j

The story is wonderful, the set it amazing, the cast are out of this world and would recommend to everyone to go see. I spent £60 each on tickets and would happy pay that again to go see it. :j

    Thanks Missy Moo

Would love to go for the £65 tickets, but budget won't stretch to that for 4 of us. Think I'm going to go for the cheaper seats, the kids are used to not seeing everything in theatre/cinema due to their height, also we'll move them along into the slightly more expensive seats that I will have to buy to get 4 of us together. I'm sure they're going to love the atmosphere despite, some of the view being restricted.

You would need to be a little more descriptive of the seats, which row are they?

It's a fab show (and I say this an lighting technician in the theatre industry who hates musicals and never goes to see shows on his days off!!) and I'm sure you'll all really enjoy it regardless of the odd bits you can't see.

    Hi Miss J

I've seen this show many times and I love it. It's probably one of my favourite shows of all time. I've been in seats across the theatre and have never had a bad seat.

Without giving too much away the WOW moments can be seen from anywhere in the theatre.

    Hope you all enjoy it

I loved the show too , I think its one of the best . However if the seats arent good ( in any show) it can spoil it

How far back are the seats?

We were in the next to back row of the dress circle (I think!) as we got some last minute cheap seats. Normally if I go to a London show it is a special trip/occassion so I pay for more expensive seats but we thought we might as well give it a go.

I was incredibly disappointed, the people around us were obviously just doing the tourist thing and ticking off the "lets go see a show" box. A number of them talked during it, one girl behind me was on the phone to her boyfriend

We were so far from the stage that we totally lost on the atmosphere of the show and it was a real real shame as it was a brilliant show. Still planning to go back when I can afford some decent seats!

I dont want to be negative but just letting you know my experience.

If you do go I hope you have an amazing time :T

Have you look at the getintolondontheatre website. They do good priced tickets every Jan/Feb. Not sure what date you were looking for but here's a link

When I checked one of the pages the seats were more expensive than £17.50 but they are better seats and there is no booking fee

My daughter and friends went on cheap tickets and adored the show but did say they were VERY far back and that did spoil it a little.
  • We went to see Wicked for £15 in October. Our seats were right on the back row to the furthest left from the stage. There were only 4 seats that could have been any furter away from the stage. Having said that, we could see everything, we could hear everything and we absolutely loved it. As long as you accept that you are not going to see close ups I have no problem with it. We hired my youngest daughter a set of binoculars, just for the novelty value, but the rest of them didn't use them at all.

I've sat in the £17 stalls seats, Row E i think they were. You miss the side of the stage but you don't miss any of the main action. They are decent enough seats.
