How to Install a Software fix?

Hey how do you install a software fix? I have been given an anti-virus CD, do I install the CD as normal then restart my computer and double click on the fix or do I install the fix without a restart?

It depends if it says restart you would restart if it doesnt intstall it right after.0

Is your anti-virus disc the "software fix"?
The term "software fix" is a very general term for any piece of software that fixes any type of bug (not just viruses and the like), and there is no single way of implementing them - so there's no way of advising you without a lot more details.
If you have a disc with anti-virus softare, that you wish to instal then, again, the instructions will depend on what anti-virus software you have now(if any) and what you want to instal. They vary between each product.
If you then want to use the anti-virus program to correct a virus you must run the particular program in the way it needs (to hopefully find the virus) before it can then fix the virus.
