Hi folks i enetered a comp on saturday from one of the posts,
I cant remember which one but in the post somebody said it looks a bit 'spammy'.
Since entering it i have received 46 emails all saying loans/c card etc have been accepted and now my pc is slowing up so guess some kind of virus may be contained in the emails (i may have opened 1 or 2 by mistake).
Im sorry i cant remeber which comp, but after filling in your details there were 5+ pages of 'surveys'.

I hope one of the mods or regulars can locate it so nobody else gets into trouble.

Apart from that good luck comping...:A

Think I remember seeing that vanpopple it was posted in a few places and pretty sure someone had asked for them to be removed. Was it something that offered free stuff from Vista Print?

Vista Print themselves are a pain. Wish they wouldn't send emails with 'Congratulations' in the title and then offer me business cards! :(

Sorry you've had problems vanpopple, that's why I never enter comps the minute they're posted. There are people on here far more 'savvy' than I am about what should be avoided, I wait for them to have a look first. They're very good at spotting anything that could cause trouble.

The people on the 'Tech Forum' are extremely helpful if you have PC problems, they fall over each other to be the first to help I've found.

Their free offers always cost more than Snapfish's ordinary deals too. Think I must have got them to unsubscribe me as I'm sure I haven't heard from them since before Xmas.

    Hi everyone

Hope you're all having a good day.

For those of you interested in winning books, the Waterstones FB site has just posted another 'read and review' offer for a book called 'Honour'.

Thanks SueMaggie - have emailed although they don't seem to like me anymore! I got loads and loads for a while and now nothing although I am up to date with the reviewing. Will probably be like buses and gets loads again all at once.

Just finished work. Everyone asking me if my eye is sore and wondered why til i looked in mirror. Its all bloodshot yuk. Looks like OHs eye when he has been hospital and they poking and prodding it. Was ok before I went to work.

Vanpoppel sorry you are getting lots of spam. Sadly thats the risk of comping. No matter how careful you are with tick boxes always increased spam. Never click the links in them. If you think your pc has a virus get a virus scan check done asap.

Have applied for the waterstones book. Hope someone in the inn gets lucky with it.

Why is it so hard to buy normal lightbulbs now. I know they are being phased out but my OH can't do with the energy saving bulbs as he needs instant light with his eyesigh issues not a dim light for a few hours. If i find any now i will have to bulk buy as we have run out :(

Thanks for kind words and advice,
Luckily iam a self pc expert (27 years) so i have no problems when i get trojans/virus and the like.

But if i can give a little tip to others in my pc i had 6 hard drives with 2 identical windows 7 64 bit running, so if i suddenly get a virus on my first 1 i keep switch drives instantly and whilst running my second just totally reinstall the first just in case i get any more viruses.
Doing this saves loads of time and means i have never had to get professional help, if anybody wants any tips feel free to ask, we are all here to help each other.

(also dont think it was a vista print comp)
but very easy to spot the emails so i flag them and they go straight to spam box.

Thanks again and be safe online x
