Busines class car insurance-named driver

We got our insurance through a broker and it worked out quite expensive, although the cheapest we could find.
Anyhow, we need to change it as I am the named driver and now need to use the car 2 days a week to go to work. However I am not very clued up on car insurance and unsure whether I need business class or not and whether I can even put that on as I am only the named driver.
I will be driving to different places whilst at work to visit different sites but would not be transporting anything or anyone. If it works out to expensive I will have to use public transport.
Also does anyone know if you can ditch the brokers and deal with insurers direct.

Yes, you can use direct insurers.
If the policyholder is your spouse/ partner then you need Class 1 business use (covers policyholder and a named spouse) if they arent then you need class 2 which covers all named on the policy for business use (non-delivery etc)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
