Olympus Pen Cashback Promotion

Hi,
This is my first post so please be nice!
I bought a camera on Amazon marketplace expecting a £50 cashback from Olympus.
Guess what? the seller is not part of the promotion. Now this is very cheeky from Olympus. They spend millions advertising the cashback and a word to actually get you: "Offer applies to authorised Olympus dealers and may not apply to third party sellers".
I let you imagine how burried in the t&c's was that MAY word.
So ladies and gents, don't buy Olympus thinking you are going will have a cashback and consider it a Santa story.

Not really the fault of Olympus to be honest. Firms tend to offer cashback as an incentive to get consumers to buy from UK stockists, if you've bought on amazon marketplace and can't get cashback then it's probably a grey import! If it was significantly cheaper than known retailers that should have been a big clue. Same thing with Sony, Canon etc.
I could theoretically have bought an Olympus Pen from Jessops, claimed the cashback, not used it and sold it on Amazon market place - do you think Olympus are going to pay out twice on the same camera? The cameras sold on there could come from anywhere.£2012 in 2012 member #15: £651.55/£20120 -
It's very rare to get cashback on any product that hasn't been supplied through the official channels such as grey imports. As Crazy has said you have to balance the savings against any cashback and possible lack of warranty. You could return the item under DSR and buy again through the official channels. The man without a signature.0
