Boxing in pipe above boiler

I have just spent the last week re-doing our kitchen, but have been left with three ugly, rusty old pipes coming out the top of the boiler.
First off, is it safe to box around these pipes?
Secondly, assuming it is, what would people recommend? I want something as simple as possible that I can paint the same colour as the kitchen walls.
Thanks in advance!

Mine is just a hinged cover of mdf the same size as the boiler. It is opened like a cupboard when the boiler requires maintenance. It has been there for years without a problem. I will put a photo on later.
See here. http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp352/27col/100_1724.jpgI can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
