Had to happen eventually

Options
Finally I got my first Parking Charge Notice.

Had to take my 3-yr old for an MRI scan at a nearby hospital and the car park was managed by our old friends Total Parking Solutions.

After parking up, the first thing I noticed was that the bays are not big enough to fit my car in (7-seater), so I was expecting a charge for not parking in a bay (I would have had a field day with that!).

But as happens sometimes in hospital visits, things overrun, and as I was my son's only carer there I could naturally not go back to move the car. So I overran by an hour.

And Lo and behold, I had a pretty white present stuck to the window :)

But I'm worried now. Can they send bailiffs round to take away my children and sell them into slavery?

Just watched The Bleak Old Shop Of Stuff, recorded over Christmas, a spoof Dickensian comedy, where Mr Jedrington Secret-Past's family and even his physical shop were dragged off to the debters' prison for an alleged debt. So if it can happen there, I'm sure they can do the same to your family :D

Congratulations on being the forthcoming recipient of plenty of material for the recycling bin.

    Don't be silly.
You'd have people parking "illegally" every time their kids are playing up if they could :rotfl:

if you bung the kids on ebay now then they would only be able to take the wife, make sure you put a buy it now on the kids and collection only (theyre a bu**er to wrap) and ensure the wife has finished her chores before the come for her.

Sounds like it's another hospital which would benefit massively from having a Pay-on-exit barrier system rather than an outdated pay & display system.

I disagree, it's a tax on the sick and the people visiting or their families. Like in Wales all parking in hospitals should be free, I go to Swansea Singleton hospital and the parking is ok, though it's very busy and small ! And that is with a uni next door, you get a free token from the ward you are visiting.

In Neath Port Talbot Hospital there is a huge car park which is free for the public, and they have a very helpful guy there directing you to empty bays close to the front doors.

In Morriston Hospital they have just build a multi storey car park to help with parking , it is also free! There are no PPCs at any of these hospitals that i have seen, they are all the same trust, they are quite well run, and there are restrictions, well except in the obvious places like ambulance bays.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

That seems a very good system Taffy, the last thing anyone using a hospital needs to worry about is whrther or not some slimy PPC is going to demand money for an invoice. Surely the likes of Aintree and their tame solicitor, Trethowans are proof it doesn't work

First scam ticket? - Well done!

I still don't have one lol. I keep taking the mick in several car parks but I've yet to get one. I suspect it'll happen one day but it hasn't yet (although in fairness I do kind of have an unfair advantage with inside information to help me avoid PPC tickets).

Just to update, had a 2nd letter a few weeks later which was duly ignored. Heard nothing since :)

More proof for the newbies that ignoring works.

Just write to the hospital telling them that their negligent failure to run to time caused you to get a parking ticket, so you hold them liable.

Just got a letter from Roxburge. Total is now £148 which "includes late payment administration fees" and the usual tripe about Civil Procedure Rules.

    I like mail :)
