Beware your Co-op Energy final statement
I switched to Co-op Energy from 1 October 2011 only to be informed of a proposed price rise before the switch had even been completed. However, on the basis that "If you inform us of your intention to leave before the 3rd November...our price increase will not affect you" I notified the company on 20 October that I would be leaving and commenced the switch back to Ovo.
I have just received the final statement which, contrary to the information set out above, imposes the price rise for the period from 3 November to 1 December when the switch to Ovo was completed.
If you also switched away from the Co-op in order to "avoid" the price rise, make sure you check your final statement.
