Are you seriously suggesting that OP asks the engineer to put his career on the line by defrauding his employer and probably breaking his contract of employment in the process for the sake of 200 notes?

    Cheers

I think that Stone was referring to me getting the part and paying my engineer mentioned in the OP the £100 for labour.

But what your suggesting does happen all the time, you'd be amazed how greedy people can be when they're flashed a few notes!

Can anyone tell me if the secondary heat exchanger is known as anything else?
I ask as i rang at least 2 other plumbers who said there was no such thing, they said he might be referring to the heat plate?

Have you discussed this with the original installer? On a 2 year old boiler, that would be my first point of contact.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I am going to do that, but I have been told that he should have given the boiler a chemical treatment/flush as per the manufacturers terms for warranty and also should have installed a softener.

So not keen to use him again, will get it sorted then go to him for me money back or report him to Gas Safe

That is correct, if the flush was not done then the entire warranty will be invalidated. What does your commissioning documentation say?

WB should have the docs from when it was registered by the installer. But if not flushed, then no chance of a warranty claim.

Not holding my breath on the warranty claim!

Might go for the BGas repair (£99) and cover (£22/month for 12 months)

    Thanks again macman

WB do not have any docs, they said it was registered online or over the phone.

Do you know where i stand if the installer didn't flush?
