    Hi,

RichyRich - if you look in the FAQ it mentions the lost keys service. "We're now pleased be offer a service of returning lost keys to you! If your keys have the tag & they are returned to us, we'll call to let you know & return them to you"

I suspect this means that we have to give them a real phone number to contact us on. I suppose they would want to make sure the address is correct before returning the keys.

For an anti-crime tip, register an additional cardholder but set the account to NOT allow them to redeem points. Keep the primary card at home and carry the additional card - if it is lost it cannot be used.

However I cannot see a way of getting a keyfob for additonal cardholders - anyone know how?
  • What does it actually say on the keyfob? (ie. if found, return to..)

Maybe we could petition Tesco to do the same!

Thought points could only be redeemed in your home store - thief would have to know home store? (or just go to Argos). Surely they look at the name on the Nectar card and the name on the payment card - I know Tesco won't let you spend other people's (like my Mum's, not stolen!) Tesco Clubcard points.
  • I've already got one of these key return thingys and a while ago I lost my house keys at the hospital. A doctor phoned the freephone number printed on the tag and the company asked him to hold on to them for the moment. They contacted me to see if I wanted to pick the keys up or if the doc should bung them in the post and the company would return them to me. Being only 10 mins from the hospital I elected to pick the keys up. Company phoned doc with a password for me to give him to prove keys were mine. All worked super duper and I was reunited with my keys about an hour after loosing them. Key tag is not a Nectar one though.
  • Cheers Martin key tag on way & found out I got 2137 in points forgot about when I joined EDF Energy. Buying new loo seat in Argos with it joy!!

I didn't proceed with this after they asked for personal info (such as mother's maiden name) without https secure.

I think they are totally out of order "phishing" for personal info and then even suggesting (!) this key piece of personal info (used in online banking) without protection built in.

    I emailed to complain.

No way should you enter mother's maiden name on here if you also used that on banking sites. Phishers piece information together so this is very poor from Nectar.

If Nectar don't want to invest in a secure site they certainly shouldn't be asking for key logon info.

This is so basic these days, and undermines the general movement towards more secure online transactions. Bah!
  • I've got one of those Tesco's keyring Barcode fobs and so has my dog so if she gets lost i do hope i will find her at customer services

Make a name up that you use with lower priority things than banking. But it is poor I agree.
  • Alternative to using any kind of service:
Put phone number or address of trusted friend/relative on your key fob. Preferably one that doesn't live too far away from you. This worked for an elderly man who has my details on his keys and who frequently looses them!
The good thing is that you have a chance of getting them back quicker too rather than relying on the post.
