Does the Travel company have to honour the price?

I have just booked a three night stay in a hotel via Opodo. The price quoted was £1.69 per night which I thought was too good to be true so I proceeded to book it. I received a confirmation email from Opodo with the total price of £5.07 to be paid at the hotel.

My question is, if Opodo have indeed got the price wrong will I get a nasty surprise at the hotel when they charge me £80 per night or so and tell me that the price I was quoted was incorrect. I have not paid any money yet as Opodo advised that all fees are paid locally, so do I have a contract with them yet?

Any help will be appreciated.

I booked a hotel room through Laterooms once, it was for The Marriott York and Marriott had missed the 'zero' off making the price for a double room b&b £14 instead of £140.
I booked it through the automated online booking system. Luckily I was able to go to the Marriott website and put the reservation number in to check my booking, it showed as £140 (Is this a hotel chain that maybe you could do the same with?). So I rang Marriott and they confirmed it was Marriott who had input the wrong price. They said I would have to take it up with 'laterooms'. So I rang laterooms who were more than helpful, the guy rang Marriott himself who tried to wriggle out of it but eventually they relented and gave me the room for £14! On check in I just asked them to check the price and they said it was £14, she said she had 'heard about this one'! She believed a couple more people had got that price too. So I would suggest that as they let me have it for £14 they may have known that they had to? I had after all got a confirmation booking number stating that price for that room. I don't know the legality of this though.

But..... Good luck and I really hope they give you this!!

.....Oh by the way, I found the Marriott 'checkout' bill for this the other day with the £14 room rate showing so I think I remember correctly that this was a 'pay locally' booking too.

If you know that a price is far too low then I am afraid that they don't have to honour it. However, the same question was asked with regard to a Virgin Holidays booking a short while back, and they honoured it. Therefore it may be possible to get them to honour it as a gesture of goodwill.

it looks to me as if the true price should be £169 as even 16.90 is too low. I don't think I'd risk it
