redundancy

I was told yesterday that redundancy was in the pipeline and that was the last resort but they would offer us other jobs within the company - but we won't know for sure until the exact details until the end of the month - then we will be told if our hours will be cut - etc - is this normal to wait this long to find out.

I have only been in the company for 9 months and after being made redundant before this job I want to hold out for an in house job that will come up.

Do you think i should hold off looking for another job ?

No, you shouldn't. If you have only been there nine months, unless you excel, you will be the first out of the door. Terminating your contract means no redundancy pay and minimal notice compared to staff who have several years employment.

I agree. Last in... first out.
