Transporting a washing machine

Can anyone give me some advice on transporting a washing machine please.

I need to replace the one I'm using and have decided to buy a second hand Bosch one to tide me over. Do I need to buy transit bolts or is there another way of making sure the drum doesn't move?

Any advice would be welcome!

    ive moved many washing machines, on their sides, with no problems.
    one thing to bear in mind though, is that the drum on some machines can move and damage the PCB.
    the trick is to lay the down the machine, on the opposite side to the PCB.
    generally that means lay the machine down on its left side.
    Get some gorm.

    ive moved many a washer without putting the transit bolts back in (your meant to but i never have and never had any bother with them) ive laid them on their back and side dependant on how much space is in the car or van

    PCB=printed circuit board.
    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.
  • also, make sure it can't slide about in the back of the car or you might end up having to replace one of the rear windows :(
