Hello, I have just started maternity leave and have saved up enough money to last 1 year and 'pay myself' each month, trouble is, because it is a good amount I want to put it in a high interest account but make monthly transfers by dd/ standing order but no accounts seem to do this - please can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks

Have you considered a ISA?? You can open one each tax year. The one I have is an online account, online accounts usually offer more interest.Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140

I am not sure about accounts with standing order, but if we are talking monthly, it may be best to go for something with Online Banking.
I have a Santander eSaver and withdrawing money takes less than a minute including loading the website, typing in user/password, etc.
A minute a month shouldn't be too much hassle, then you have the flexibility to also put some back in.
As the above poster stated, you can get ISA accounts that are online too. In fact, every one of my accounts have Internet access besides one - a fixed term saver, which I can't withdraw from until 2 years are up anyway.Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”
