Tablet expectations help please

Hey there can you clever techie people please help or advise me, I looked into tablets/ipads and decided the sony s1 would suit our household needs as we have a sony tv and the option to throw media sounded good also I play farmville/castleville and was told the sony had flash and could cope with those games also card slot for extra storage.

This was bought as a christmas pressie and so thats me just having the time to look into things more - the wireless keeps crashing so when watching something thrown you have to go back and find where you were 3 times watching and 3 times crashed! I have even looked at the screen timeout settings but that meant it ran 1 hour then crashed:(

It wont play farmville/castleville or any game it just crashes and goes to home screen also i tried Fantasy Town by gameloft and it kicked me back to the sony screen everytime i try to post on facebook! It wont register the smurfs village that i have running and doesnt connect gameplay alreading started even though im using same email.

Are these normal and what should be expected from a tablet? I bought this for reading books (fine so far via .pdf reader) throwing to the sony tv and then gameplay which in turn would make my laptop free for my daughter to have but at the moment its not happening and i dont know what to expect am i missing something? I have flash player installed but still cant play the games or is it a faulty unit?

If anyone could please help me that would be great as its an expensive bit of kit if it doesnt do what I want it to do or was told it would do.

You've made the mistake of thinking a tablet can replace a computer. It can't (for some things).
For the Flash games especially, they'll be designed for a computer, with a mouse and keyboard, so guess what you'd be best using them on...
If you were told this stuff by the retailer you bought it from, you have grounds to take it back IMO.

Thank you for replying, I did ask at the time as I was torn between the sony ereader/kindle or the sony s tablet as i already have the iphone pc worlds display model booted into farmville hence i opted for this tablet I just dont know why it wont now? and it seems there is an issue with the wifi dropping:(

I bought it as a portable pc to replace a laptop we still have the main pc.

I called sony who ran through a few tests and suggestions and they advised me to return the tablet back to PC World but they want to send it off for repair as they said it was just out the 28 days by 4 days and I only opened it 25th Dec. So I have the tablet back home with me and a few phone calls to make in the morning :mad:
