Hey BR how are you coping with no  chocolate?
I'm not doing so bad with the chocolate - only the wine, beer, cider etc. to tackle now. :beer:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Lots of very happy Welsh tonight after winning the rugby today. I think I shall celebrate with a beer or two or three. So much for giving it up! :rotfl:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update from me.
Got my list of creditors and payments offered from cccs, 3 of 9 were incorrect unfortunately! Phoned them up and they say they will amend them. I am just having to trust them on this one as I dont have online dmp service yet to check and they havent sent anything else out in writing to confirm. Has anyone else had this problem? Do the creditors not get a bit fed up with an offer one minute then a different offer the next?
I have been defaulted by 2 of the 9 now but both seem to have accepted the dmp so that is good news.
Still cant fully close old bank account and include them on the dmp as eventhough I gave my ex new bank account details 3 weeks ago, he has very kindly paid maintenace into old bank account, just to be arkward I think, no other reason for it! So where I was hoping to get all that boxed off, I now have to wait another month to see if he plays ball next month!.
Car is in the garage Tuesday and I am hoping it wont be too bad but I am expecting about £150 and I need a new tyre. So pleased I have this month to try and get things like this out of the way before I start my dmp properly.
I dont start my dmp until 1st May, so am using this month as a 'trial'. I seem to be doing fine apart from shopping. I managed to spend £47 on a weeks shop for 2 of us last week and this week...arrgg!! I need to get this halfed at least but I am really struggling!! Anyone got any useful links I could read to help?
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday!0 -

This might sound like a daft question, but can you not remove the maintenance from the old bank account and then close it?Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I really struggle with this too, mainly cos our only supermarket is Waitrose and OH won't buy cheap brands. :mad:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi BR,
Well yes I suppose I could but then I presume if he tried to put it into that account again next month and I had closed it, I am guessing it would bounce back into his account. If it does then he will just see it as an excuse not to pay it.
I have now given him the option to pay it into the correct account this month or he will have to pay the CSA and they will in turn pay me and that way it will get put into the right account.
I hope this scares him a bit and works!!0 -

Oh I bet shopping at waitrose dont make your money go very far!!
I used to look at my shopping on the belt at the till and it was always full of leading brands. I tried to go the one brand cheaper but couldnt find what I needed!! I guess I wasnt as desperate then as I am now as I can now find loads of stuff!
Wierd thing is, some things I prefer. Like beans and beans and sausages...I would never buy anything but heinz but I found my son regularly left them and I found them to be hard. i now buy value brand and we both prefer them. So much so that I still have 4 tins of heinz in the cupboard!!
Some things I have tried, like cereal, but I can definitely taste the difference, so now I buy branded but only if its on offer!
Can you do online shopping? If other supermarkets deliver in your area then you might be able to get round it that way.
I think I might try online shopping, that way I can see how much I am spending and exactly what I am buying. Done this weeks shopping, spent nearly £50, but there is hardly anything in to eat!! That makes me mad!0 -

You're not wrong there
Write a list for five items and you can bet on at least £10
We tend to do one big shop a month at Asda, get all the stuff that will keep but the fresh stuff is more of a problem cos Asda is about 8 miles away. So you have to consider the petrol then against any savings you make on the food. We don't plan a menu either which we should do, I'm sure we would spend less if we did. Don't know if Asda would deliver to where I live but it sure is worth asking the question next time I'm there.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
