What's the address you used to send Lloyds loan a token payment? I'm struggling to find the address.

They sent me a letter regarding me cancelling the direct debit on my loan, so I sent them a token payment back in the SAE they sent to me, with a letter explaining the situation.
  • So my DMP is finally set up now. First payment to step change is DEC 1st. Received a barclaycard letter today saying interest has been stopped etc till they hear from step change and I think vanquis have accepted step changes offer because the payment amount due this has gone to the amount offered.

I set up a spreadsheet this morning to keep on top of our money but I dont really understand excel.
Does anyone know any budgeting programs out there that are easy to use?

    Thanks Saac.

I will get prepared for an argos battle in the new year. I think HSBC are going to be my biggest problem.

I reclaimed bank charhes sucessfully a few yrs ago, and would love to try again. Worked out it is nearly 2k. However I feel this may rock the boat too much.

Has anyone done reclaiming whilst on a dmp?

    Thanks

    G1W

Hi, battling argos is worth it, our % was tiny after we hassled them a bit, although we could never get them to drop it completely.

Reclaiming ppi on a dmp, I tried to start a thread on this ages ago but forgot about it tbh. Other people have done this and I intend to give it a proper go too. I wouldn't worry about it annoying them as I doubt if one arm has any idea what the other is doing. That said, when it comes to payment, they will check if there's any debts with them and use it against the debt.

  • Lloyds have rejected the DMP on this account and StepChange told me that I need to go into the branch and request that they remove the OD limit and close the account so that it can be transferred into the collections department. I am told that I can't do it directly with collections myself.

I was told the same by CCCS and had the same problem with a 'friend' in the branch. I ended up going into another local branch and got the telephone number for my usual branch, then rang them. They then said I didnt really need to go into branch, because all they would do is ring the call centre when you were there to have the OD removed. They put me through to the call centre and we dealt with it from there.

In the end they wouldnt remove the overdraft, they just passed the account to collections to start defaulting the account, which is the only way you can stop interest permanently.:(:(
    Sealed Pot no 2011 :D
  • Thanks SAAC.

I was actually talking about unfair bank charges not ppi. I wonder if this type of claim is possible whilst on a dmp.

Just to let everyone know the wife has still not accepted the situation and does throw it back at me all the time. However she has taken to budgetting like a duck to water!

Also, got my first default letter today from santander. Hope the rest follow asap.

New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.

Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.
  • Oh, sorry G1W, I should have paid attention - still, yes! People have reclaimed charges while on DMPs, definitely.

Sorry to hear that Mrs G1W is finding the DMP hard to accept but at least the budgetting is going well :)
  • Evening all

I'm just in the process of sorting out all of my budgeting envelopes which will be stored in my shiny new cash tin (Wilko's special, thriftiness has already set in!). Not the most interesting way to spend a Thursday night but it needs to be done.

I'm determined to stick to my new budget for my first DMP month and think that withdrawing the cash and allocating it into separate envelopes will be the easiest way to manage it.

I'm sure I'll get used to it, if i can do it for the festive season the rest of the year should be a lot easier.

I've got a DMP monitoring sheet set up on my laptop, which I'll update each month when the statements arrive. Hopefully this will help when I need to check the balance figures on my StepChange page.

Just the nail biting stage of waiting for the creditors responses to the DMP notification...

  • Brilliant EN well done. My top tip would be a concertina file (tesco basic £3) - using this we seperated all the debt stuff away from our other general household file, which felt good. I've got a pocket for each creditor and as the debts been passed on I continue using that slot but put the new name in the tab - this helps me keep track of where a debt has travelled too, because this does get confusing. Mind you, we did have 19 creditors

    Hi SAAC

I've got one of those all ready to go. Got latest statements and my DMP paperwork in so far. I've got nine creditors, so that is confusing enough, especially as four debts are with Santander. The tracking idea is great, thanks.

I have gathered so much useful advice from this forum, it has been a godsend. I don't know where I would have been without it. Probably still crying every month in despair at the small amount of debt that was being paid off each month versus the money leaving my bank account!

Onwards and upwards and feeling positive about the future. :)

I have reclaimed PPI and also Credit Card Charges whilst I have been on the DMP. It doesnt appear to have annoyed anyone.
