Our first DMP payment to CCCS goes through next week on the 1st, I have sent token payments of £1 to all the card companies again this month as they won't get paid by CCCS until the 25th August.
Its been very quiet since we sent out the initial letters, we got replies from all apart from NatWest and Halifax, all the others have frozen interest and fines until they get an offer, the first of these dates runs out with Barclaycard on the 3rd August so it will be interesting to see if we get inundated with phone calls. I spoke to CCCS a couple of weeks ago and they said all letters and offers had been set, so I guess its a case of "watch this space"

We're in exactly the same place as you, bertman. First payment comes out next week to CCCS and then we can start counting down our debt (and hopefully not counting UP too much first). We haven't had letters from all of our creditors, so I'm not sure where we are with interest/charges, but the ones we HAVE heard from have frozen them, so I'm encouraged. Indeed... Watch this space!

We can be 'plan buddies'! :rotfl:

Hey - I will check in and see how you are doing, its still the best thing we have done in our battle with these debts, at least we can plan for the future knowing we have at last got some sort of control over things......

    Hi,

We have only heard back from two of our creditors MBNA who were very nice and have frozen interest and Cap One who have informed us that we have a reduced payment plan but have said nothing about interest or charges but have sent us a default notice.

Our first payment to CCCs is also August 1st so we are quite nervous about what is going to happen next..

Our first letters were also from MBNA who were very polite and agreed in writing to the payments, I will post how we get on with others from 1st August, like you I am nervous of the "not knowing".

Ours starts Sept 1st so I'll have to send tokens again this month. Good thing is that by sending tokens we have cleared the o/d before we start. I daren't spend anything at the moment and check my new and old bank acc around 3 times a day (think I'm getting OCD!) but I feel bad because it's the summer holidays and the kids deserve some treat even if it's the odd ice cream. I think we should be able to afford it but I'm just so scared that the money will run out and now we have no credit to fall back on. No news from creditors yet but 3 out of the 4 have cashed the token so I guess that means they accept it?

Hi all you DMP newbies just about to start out on your plans. I am coming up to my first annual review and can't believe that this time last year I was where you are now, it has gone so quickly. I can honestly say that it hasn't caused me and OH nearly as much hassle and worry that we thought it would. We had a bit of a hiccup when we had a huge car repair bill and had to reduce our payment for one month and some of the creditors got a bit shirty. Apart from that it has been really straightforward. Some debts have been passed over to DCA's but they all accepted the same payments without any problems.

So good luck and you know where to come if things go pear shaped:D

Haven't posted for a little while. Thing are still going well. First month of no pay day loan which was great. Although we still need to pay them back we are in a slightly better position than we were a month ago. That's good :)

I just wondered if anyone had experience of court summons? Received one for council tax arrears but had already made a payment and sent them a letter and i&e sheet with a monthly offer which they lost. Rang them and explained then emailed a copy of the letter offer and i&e and they've accepted it. Does that mean the summons is cancelled or that they will still go to court but instead of an attachment of earnings will just use the offered amount x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
