:) Glad I wasn't too late. I've sent them an email with mine and will also be posting my DMP this afternoon. Still waiting for my new bank details though. It's been a week, was hoping to have it by now :(

    Good morning all,

Just a quickie regarding Token payments,

How much do you suggest as a token payment? should I send the letter of which i received from cccs with the token payment.

    Oooppppssss

Im a little confused as to deferring the DMP, some people have said to defer for 2 months others have said to defer a month and others are saying to get it started asap. Whats your thoughts???

That's really up to you, depending on your circumstances. If you are behind on your priority debts you need to pay them off first. I would suggest you catch up on any of those before starting the DMP. Have you spoken to CCCS regarding the debt your brother in law was guaranteeing? If you paid your other creditors token payments for a couple of months could you clear this debt before starting the DMP?

My next step is to see my Bro in law, who is guarantor for a loan I took out,
i would strongly advise u NOT to include this in ur DMP your brother in law will be out of pocket/credit report trashed if monthly payments are not made in full.....

I largely agree DFW but it depends on how much these repayments are. If they are significant it could be hard to find the cash out of the money allowed to live on when on a DMP. If you exclude it from the DMP but add it in as another cost so you can afford the repayments other creditors might not accept the fact that this debt should take priority over theirs. I think you need to discuss this with CCCS Matty.

I have been with my bro in law today, we have discussed what i am going into, obviously he was a little curious about this, but he has said that he would pay off the monthly payments for me until my DMP is over, I was a bit taken back, but I have said i would get some advice from my new friends (you guys).

Do you think this is a good idea or not, when the DMP is finally over I would be financially secure, an will be able to pay my Bro in law back

We opened a new account with Nationwide, it's all been approved (inc small o/d if we need it but don't plan on using that) but can't register for online banking or set up DD's until we get our cashcards. It's been a week now, just wondering how long it normally takes to get the cards?

CCCS know our situation. I just want to get the ball rolling so may be a little impatient! If the cards arrive early next week I can start cancelling and setting up DD's. Then I guess we just wait and see what happens!

No, I'm waiting for a reply from CCCS to find out how much to send. I offered to send the amount that they recommend we should pay on the DMP but maybe we should just send token so we have a bit of reserve until it's up and running.
I'm not looking forward to calls and to be honest we don't answer calls now - we screen them through the answer machine so maybe I'll chicken out and continue to do that! Letters I can handle as I think CCCS say just send them to them or ignore them.
