DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 8

I was their customer for a long time too and they made my overdraft interest free, a new loan, a cc. Even had a financial check with them and all the guy said was 'cut up the cards'... he didn't have a decent reply when I said I couldn't afford all the minimum payments.
Sod them then, I'll call the ombudsman tomorrow and see what they say and let them do it for me.
I will never bank with them again, nor Halifax... regardless of price for any product and I'll do my best to dissuade others. What really galls me is the "Little extra help" and "For the journey" logos they're peddling around at the moment. I received no help (for 3 years) and they left me behind on this 'journey!'
Right, enough of bad mouthing these gits, let's return to the calm positiveness of how great things will be when we're off the DMP and how good a human being we all are for facing our problems and dealing with them without the "Write off 75% of your debt" excuse!!
We're on the same page, singing from the same hymn book and all that jazz.

Am probably showing my age here but can't help thinking of Wolfie Smith and his first up against the wall.
Lloyds TSB can be my first up against the wall. Power to the people :rotfl:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

SCM solicitors aren't a firm of solicitors, it's just a name bought up by Lloyds TSB in order to scare people into paying what they haven't got
Don't speak to them on the phone, if you need to contact them at all, write to them at Lloyds TSB, Collections Centre, Brighton, BN1 4BE but my advice would be to ignore them.
Are they still charging interest or adding extra charges? If so report them to the FOS. We had no response to our DMP except for them to increase interest charges, the FOS got that stopped within 9 days of us contacting them. Oh and the grovelling letter from Lloyds TSB was almost as good as getting the interest back :rotfl:
Good luck and please let us know how you get on
Back in the day when we were reclaiming bank charges and Lloyds were the most difficult - there was also an A added into the solicitors name by disgruntled customers, who were previously scared of a solicitors letter!!:rotfl::rotfl:
Good Luck with all this.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

Wolfie Smith eh? :rotfl:
Maybe we should resurrect the Tooting Popular Front then!:D0 -
Wait, wait, wait! We can't take them down yet. We need to wait until they've paid back the money they owe us (the British taxpayer!)
(Also, does anyone know if I need to make my Postal Order out to Virgin Credit Cards or leave it blank?)LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -

If you still have the facility then use online banking and pay it through this - save the PO and stamp costs.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
Hi everyone and thanks for your comments.
Just to clarify: creditors agree to pay us what’s known as a 'Fair Share Contribution' (FSC), in recognition of the unique service we provide to people in debt.
FSC comes from creditors that pay a voluntary, non-contractual and charitable donation of the money that’s repaid to them through debt management plans.
This doesn’t affect our advice in any way - we’re completely impartial.
However, this forum thread is to help those in need of debt advice rather than discussions on how we are funded. As someone has mentioned, somehow another thread has been merged into this one.
To stop any confusion, and so that we can continue to help those that need it, it’s best to continue this conversation on another thread - we’re happy to contribute if needed.
Thank you,

Thank you for the clarification Pavan
I am assuming a Mod merged the thread. Does anyone know how we approach MSE to deal with this unmerging?
