Thanks for the answers to my question. I have an overdraft fee and an overdraft interest fee applied every month, comes to about £28 I think. So what do I do then? Write to Lloyds asking them to end the charges and refund the charges already applied? Then when they refuse call the FOS and see what they say?LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -

You can write to Lloyds but you have no obligation to do so, the FOS will be happy to do this on your behalf and send you a copy of the letter. Lloyds then have 8 weeks to respond, if the response is not to your satisfaction you can then go back to the FOS and ask them to pursue the matter further.
There are obviously no guarantees but my overdraft costs were around £95 per month and the FOS have managed to get this stopped for at least 12 months plus I got 2 months interest refunded. Even if Lloyds reapply the interest next year, the debt will have come down by over £1850 and the interest will be less and we will have saved over £1000 in charges.

The very first thing I did before we started our DMP was to cancel my Lloyds TSB Platinum account. This had been of benefit in the past as it included full AA membership, top notch family travel insurance etc. A year's AA membership cost us much less than the account fees and we got £50 cashback and we won't be needing travel insurance for a few years
Thanks TTFTM,
Good (and helpful) advice as always:D0 -
Thanks for that, I think I'll call the FOS tomorrow & take some advice. I'm thinking I'll write to Lloyds myself (seems the most honest thing to do, esp as the FOS are so busy) then complain to the FOS when they inevitably reply in the negative. If they reply in the positive however, it could take a month off my DMP! So fingers crossed!
The post office isn't going to know what's hit them tomorrow, I'll be recording delivery to Lloyds, also to Virgin MBNA for a Subject Access Request (they added PPI with no consultation back in 2007) and I'll need a postal order too... Do I have to make it out to Virgin/MBNA like a cheque? Or do I leave it blank? Never done a PO before so I dunno? Also, I paid my student loan off 3 months ago and my work payroll have only just stopped the monthly payment, so I'm reclaiming the overpayment.
It's all go on the reclaiming front for me!LBM - 11/08

Go Ben go.
Yes the Post Office will ask if you want to have them type it out. I was too shy and said I'd do it myself!
Good luck

I had already written to Lloyds TSB and they had ignored me. I was their customer for 20 years + with over £2000 going into my account each month. Paying for premium accounts, paying interest charges, paying for the privilege of banking with them while they constantly increased my OD limit, persuaded me to have a bigger and better premium account at half price, to take out another CC, blah blah. They loved me when I had money, now I am the scum of the earth and they ignored every letter I wrote to them.
We want to pay back every penny we owe, no IVAs for us and writing off debt, no F&Fs to try and cut down the debt, no unenforced whatever it's called to try and wriggle out of our obligations. We want to pay it all back. But we are damned if we will pay back one more penny in interest than we need to to these hypocritical vultures

You're probably better off starting a new thread with this where you will get more responses and help.
Isn't this the "Struggling with debt? Ask a debt advisor a question" thread? :think:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

I think some confusion has arisen as there was a thread called 'angry with CCCS'. It has been merged with this one for some bizzare reason. Now call me cynical............

I was their customer for a long time too and they made my overdraft interest free, a new loan, a cc. Even had a financial check with them and all the guy said was 'cut up the cards'... he didn't have a decent reply when I said I couldn't afford all the minimum payments.
Sod them then, I'll call the ombudsman tomorrow and see what they say and let them do it for me.
I will never bank with them again, nor Halifax... regardless of price for any product and I'll do my best to dissuade others. What really galls me is the "Little extra help" and "For the journey" logos they're peddling around at the moment. I received no help (for 3 years) and they left me behind on this 'journey!'
Right, enough of bad mouthing these gits, let's return to the calm positiveness of how great things will be when we're off the DMP and how good a human being we all are for facing our problems and dealing with them without the "Write off 75% of your debt" excuse!!LBM - 11/08
