Claim or complain?
Assuming complain, then you have 6 years from the date you took it out or 3 years from being reasonably aware that you could make a complaint. The other issue you may hit is that companies tend to destroy documentation on closed debts/accounts. The timescale varies with companies but it tends to start after 6-10 years.
If you used a broker/adviser, then it is they who you complain to. Not the lender. However, broker/advisers tend to have much better audit trails and also, they can refuse to review your complaint if it is pre-regulation.i obviously know the companies involved but genuinely dont know if i can claim or not - but i intend to find out
Again, assuming you mean complain and not claim, then what would be your reasons for complaint? Having PPI, especially MPPI, is not grounds for complaint (MPPI has far fewer complaints and is still considered to be a PPI worth having when appropriate). You need to have been mis-sold or had it set up incorrectly.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
