Wednesday 11th January - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :D

Good morning world. It's my day off today and it's a Stitching Witch Day so heading into the sewing room to earn some money. Funny how I can bound out of bed at an unearthly hour when I've got a day off, yet struggle to get going when I have to go to my 'proper' job! :o

Okay, list for today so far:
  • checked banking
  • checked for surveys
  • started WM on Economy 7
I will also:
  • have lovely warming porridge for breakfast
  • feed the chickens and ask for some eggs in return
  • hang HC on airer
  • get DH to dye my hair with a kit I've had in the cupboard for months
  • go to allotment for a bit of pruning and veg collecting
  • put lamb stew together in slow-cooker using the leftover lamb bone snaffled from DS2's house at the weekend (it was headed for the bin ;))
  • write a bit of copy to go on the website - hopefully attract more customers
  • get into sewing room early - one alteration, one repair and then a corset and matching skirt to get on with - oh, and a massive quilt to work on if I have time
  • make bread and possibly biscuits
  • all meals from stores
  • hopefully go out to take my samples to a club meeting tonight if we can scrape together a few pennies for drinks
Wow, busy day ahead but that's exactly how I like it. I never sit around getting bored - there just aren't enough hours in the day for all my hobbies! :rotfl:

    Morning all:j
Woohoo - my new Kindle arrived yesterday...that I paid for using vouchers from survey sites/Shop+Scan and from changing up the coins in my change jars:beer: Typically though our broadband was down until 9pm last night so had a delayed start in getting it set up - it's lovely though, I'm very pleased with myself saving for it:D

My late start at work today so just sitting here in my dressing gown...will have another cuppa then do something more useful;)

DNMS - enjoy the gymnastics tonight, I would just love to see that, I was always doing gym when I was younger and bendier:rotfl:
KJP - You've reminded me to check TCB too, I'm waiting for about £25 to become payable:D
Perni - I wish I could get to bed earlier too - I do often go upstairs at about 10, but my 2 daughters take forever to get ready...eldest (14) is at her most chatty then too and comes to life at night;) I could happily be tucked up by 9 but they look at me in disgust if I try:D

Ok, enough waffling...better do my list:
    • check banking...no change:T
    • check onepoll, mysurvey and valued opinions
    • do P*cone survey
    • packed lunches and extra drinks for girls
    • rolls from freezer for lunch for me
    • heating off
    • close doors to keep heat in rooms, shut curtains when dark and lights off when not in rooms
    • walk to work
    • put a washing on quickwash then on airer to dry
    • NSD - don't need anything
    • 2 bags of jumble out for collection
    • check ebay listings
    • Uni reading
    • meal from plan tonight - chicken drumsticks in one of those maggi bag things, not had it before. Will do wedges and onion rings to go with it
    Ok - that'll do for me...best get cracking. Have a great day:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Good Morning all

Stitchy - Thanks for starting us off

Sorry I didnt get the chance to pop back yesterday, have read and lots of people need hugs at the min and Im thinking of you all and sending best wishes. I found a beautiful notebook in my stash and have decided to make it a "reasons to smile" book and have started putting photos and quotes in that cheer me up. I also spent time with Little One last night making a picture, great fun and lots of chatting (paint, glue, sand, shells, just need to find a pic of a deckchair and it'll be finished)

Today's little list (very repititive but helping at the moment)

    Check Banks -
Check Swapits and relist cards not swapped
Update food tracker (17.5lb off up to now since Sept) - in progress
    WW weigh-in tonight
General tidy up in attic -
Read ("Lost Boy") - in progress, struggling to concentrate
    Comps
    Try to sparkle
Sort more photos into albums -
    More decluttering -
Ask on Freecycle for "Twister" as son would love it
    Re-list items on Freecycle

Hope you all have a great day, love to you all

    Good morning!

It is my nbirthday today...yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Trying to have a dfw day of lovliness so here are mine:

    - We have to take in cakes at work when it's our birthday, so instead of buying any I have brought in the brownies I made on Monday.
    - Check online banking, still low but in budget...just!
    - Reduced pain au chocolat for breakfast..mmm!
    - Presents were mostly cookery related which is great as it means I don't have to buy new kitchen things and can now do major batch cooking sessions in my HUUUGE shiny new le creuset casserole dish!
    - Tonight we are staying at home and burning the xmas tree with a friends, a takeaway and Uno - much better than an expensive night out!
    - NSD

    Enjoy your Wednesday!
