Just come across this bit if info and it most probably explains why ING haven't adjusted their 4.75% rate for some time

On the contrary, advertising may help them to increase their rates. Its not all about spend, spend spend......0

Really surprised his week--- when I logged on to my account with ING they were advertising a new Web Saver account paying 5.65%. I have been a bit fed up with ING for not raising their interest levels so was pleased to read this. I followed the instructions carefully and it is a doddle to open. Then I panicked that it might be a scam with a phish page ( a fake one!!) but no all is well I gave IMG a ring to ask whu I hadnt been notified by post or why it wasn't advertised on the home page ( only when you actually log in ) but they just said it was so new they hadn't advertised it yet. I think it is actually because they are frightened if they didn't do anything people would leave them for better accounts. So there we are. The only thing you have to do is leave a pound in your original account because when you want to withdraw money you first have to move it from the Websaver to yout original account and then in another step to your desigmated bank account---- don't ask me why !!!! Still Moneysavers wont be wabnting to withdraw it will they????Try and do a good deed every day.0

Seems this was a little to late to me, I like many others left ING a while ago.0

Haven't left, but dont have much (a few quid?) with them0

After the way they have behaved it will take a lot more than a bribe of 5.65% to make me want to put my money back into ING. Anyway it still falls short of the 5.7% that Icesave are paying and they have a great guarantee that goes with it.0

Have noticed their recent advertising is more about mortgages than savings - pehaps they have loads of "one great rate" banners and have re-deployed them to the loans section until they can get away with dropping the new websaver back to 4.75%..?0

If you check out the T's & C's I think you'll find they are not quite as 'flexible' as the original account, and therefore even this reasonably well paying account is not really comparable to other top accounts.

Yeah - too late. I would have definitley stayed with them had they introduced this earlier... I had over 22k with them - i've found a more lucrative home for it, - no point moving it back for a similar rate

Interestingly, the British Grand Prix is one of only 3 that they have chosen not to sponsor this year0
