You are correct, I would also expect a professional e-mail address as well, Not a freebie one. It is a bit
odd, I expect it's yet another foul up at the Job Centre.

A quick google for a company with that name in the London area. Gives a web address of http://directsuppliesltd.com and a contact email address of info@directsuppliesltd should
anyone be interested in applying.

I was being sarcastic too :)
I see lots of bt , sky, yahoo etc based email address for jobs and the JC seem to think that's normal.
• Putting aside the fact they have quoted an email instead of a web address. The actual advert is very poorly written and hard to read, whoever wrote that has very poor admin skills!

P.s. spelling mistake in your title, *adverts.......sorry couldn't resist pointing it out :o

Erm yeah that's what I was trying to show people and maybe I made a few typos here as it's just a messageboard :) not a job advert on the JC website and some person in employement has typed that up. A few words all in upper case then some in lower like a roller coaster!

They even say have a look at the website for more information and no one writing it thought to ask 'what website'?

I know, I hate mistakes in job adverts. It's frustrating because I know if I made mistakes like that in my CV they wouldn't hire me and because the errors can make it harder to apply. It's annoying when you're looking for a job and see someone has got to a position of responsibility for recruitment in a company without basic spelling, grammar and presentation skills or the ability to use spell check.

I see this kind of advert on their jobsearch site all the time. It's among the most appallingly constructed websites i've ever seen and most of these jobs are just spam. I suspect either the ad is placed speculatively by a demonstrably low rent recruitment agency, or it's poorly copy and pasted (you can see from the formatting errors on some of these ads) from another site by the people manning the jobsearch site. Either way it's a joke.

Is the problem at the recruiters end, i.e. the person placing the ad? If so, then they really need to be taken to task esp with regards to the email address which is ENTIRELY down to them, surely? Is it a personal email address? Not having a proper company email address such as imatt@jblogs.com (not real by the way) looks decidedly amatuerish. One should not have to play detective to find out which site and company this vacancy is actually attatched to. Other howlers such as poor wording, spelling and punctuation, could be down to the Jobcentre as much as the company involved.

On a related note:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2039585/The-Learning-Zone-website-unemployed-littered-spelling-mistakes.html

I posted the above link before on another thread. It shows how utterly ridiculous the idea that jobseekers should have well presented, ledgible and spellchecked CV's (which is fair enough) YET so called proffessionals make basic shcoolboy errors! The above link was about a Work Prog Provider, Avanta who aim to get 'clients' into work, help with CV's. application forms etc and yet cannot even get basic spelling right on their own website!

The people who wrote this advert will get the person they deserve.

Someone has to remind the authors of adverts like this that even in today's climate, recruitment is a two way process. The person looking for a job has still got a choice as to which advert they respond to.

I personally like it when someone is writing the salary and puts, for example, £12,000 per hour. That sort of job, whatever it is doing sounds very attractive to me!
