problem with DMP

Hi all,

I need your help.

A long time before i found this site i was swayed/co-erced/bullied into taking out a DMP with sterling green.

at the time this seemed like a good solution (i had never heard of cccs and the like that do this for free) but now my concerns are growing, My personal advisor is never avalible by phone and will not return my e-mails. payments are being recieved by my creditors, but late and not meeting the minimum repayments, also the interest has not been frozen (as they said it would) I am still recieving calls from some of my creditors who have not been contacted by SG my debt is therefore going up and not down!!!

It's got me and the wife very worried especcially as we now have a 8 week old baby to look after

is there anything we can do??
hopefully get my SOA up by the end of the day but i'm in work so limited as to what i can do during the day, but i will warn you it doesn't make good reading,

I have been so stupid!

you haven't been stupid, you have been unlucky.

Right first of all what I would do now is to contact cccs or payplan and talk to one of their advisors. It sounds like Sterling green are doing sweet fanny adams to help you so ditch them now! I don't know if you will have grounds to get any of the money you have paid to SG back, that might be something cccs could advise you of, but even if you can't there is no point in throwing good money after bad so get out now and contact one of the free dmp advisors.

I am on a dmp with cccs and they have been fantastic, still getting the odd call from some of my creditors but as soon as I mention cccs they go away for a few days. This will only carry on while everything is being set up and soon I'll be hassle free and eventually debt free :j

There is light at the end of the tunnel for you too.

Oh and congrats on the birth of your baby :)

    Echo Looby!!

Dump Sterling ASAP! You can do better on your own or via Payplan/CCCS. Your creditors will be much happier if you were to contact them directly and make offers of payment that reflect what you are actually paying Sterling. As there will be no Sterling "cut" then there is more money to pay (obviously on the condition all charges and interest are stopped ASAP).

Or, if you are not confident enough to do this on your own, get help from Payplan/CCCS.

And you are not stupid. Not ever. Its just money, so don't belittle yourself in this way. We all make mistakes.

Again, echoing what has already been said - stop all payments to those sharks(!) and get in touch with CCCS/Payplan. I'm with CCCS, no fees, fabulous so far.

I'm just bumping this for the op as it had slipped off the first page :)
  • hi

we used a fee charging company (Baines and Ernst) and they really ballsed it all up - didn't pay creditors, set our monthly payment too high. We didn't even know cccs existed until one of our creditors said that they would take us to court if we didn't use cccs. And that was the best thing that ever happened - we moved to cccs had a low start payment, good advice, pressure eased. relationship saved. 4 years later almost debt free.

Get to cccs as quick as you can.
