iva and young persons new bank account

Options
Hi, I am 2 years into an IVA with DFD. My daughter is 14 and I am thinking of getting her an account so that she can use a cash card on an up coming school trip. My queries are: Do you think I would have problems opening an account. Would it be silly to try and open an account with a bank that we owed money to.

Thanks for your help in advance.

  • You should have no problems opening a savings account in her name. I have opened one for my son with Swinton Building Society with no problems .. he is too young for a cash card, so don't know if they do one. I, personally, have an e-saver account with Yorkshire Building Society (not Bank) which has an ATM card to withdraw cash as and when needed.
