PCN notice sent to wrong name and address

Hi
I have recently received a letter from a collection agency for a Penalty Charge Notice for a motoring offence committed (probably by my daughter) in Sept 2010.

I had not received any paper work so wrote to the council to ask them for the original docs. They sent copies by email

The car is mine but the name on the docs is not my correct name (actually my first name and my middle name, no surname) and the address is wrong (there is no such road as the one on the docs) but the post code is correct.

Obviously this is the reason I didn't get the original docs is the wrong name and address. Problem is, now the fine is huge and the collection agent is threatening to take the car or enter my house and take goods (usual threats).

Have informed the council of their mistakes but they don't care. Also addressed the email to the wrong name too (another variation of my name but still not correct)
What do I do now?

Go over to www.pepipoo.com as soon as possible and post in their council PCN section. They will advise you, but it looks like you will have to apply to have this set aside. But I think you will have good grounds to do so given their failures to send it to you.

Have you changed address lately? Is the name correct on your dvla docs? Is the address correct? address these points when you contact pepipoo.com.

Thanks for the advice about pepipoo.com. Have had some very helpful advice so far and useful feedback plus a to do list.

They know their stuff over there and will do what they can to help. It also helps that when they ask you to provide information you are giving them what they need to assist you. Good luck with it Dizzy.
