Boiler problems

Hi all- first time poster here:)

I have a Worcester 24i boiler (I know they're extinct now!!)

Wouldn't fire up last week- pressed reset button- now it keeps tripping all the electrics in the house after 15mins.
It is on a MCB at the mains.

Any help/advice would be really appreciated:A

You have an electrical fault. Whether it is the boiler remains to be seen as you have not indicated that you have exhausted all other possibilities. Why do you think it will be the boiler that is tripping everything? Whatever if it is taking out the entire house then its not trivial.

You should get someone in to look at it asap. Start with a sparks.

    Cheers

You say the fuse in the fused spur didn't blow.

Are you referring to the circuit-breaker or RCD in your fuse box tripping?

The safest thing -because it is electricity - is to get a registered electrician. Do you have any Home cover? It could be the boiler problem as well.

I'd agree with all the above. Whilst it might well be a fault on the boiler (as you say), its not necessarily so.

Is there any water dripping from it?

  • We have the same boiler and have found Worcester Bosch's fixed price repair service (suggested on MSE) better than local tradespeople - we phoned mid-morning last week and he was there the same day, despite lots of travel hassle due to trees down - and we weren't without heating. Not just a new boiler salesperson in disguise Saying that though, we need to get him back as it doesn't seem to have cracked the problem.
