Pleae be aware that TalkTalk may even try to cheat you when you cancel.
I have already moved to Virgin so my cancllation yesterday should have been a 5 min phone call. I had already phoned TT on the 18 jan with a complaint about persistant marketing calls bearing in mind that when my service was out of use for 3 weeks last year they did not phone me once to report progress. So when I cancelled (4 months before my end date) the TT person said that I had phoned the day before and extended the contract for 2 years. As if! A total fabrication and needless to say when challenged he could not give me details of the call. The call took 20 mins they keep putting me on hold and I requested that as well as sending me the termination comfirmation he sends me detatils of the call he claimed I made.
I was a customer for over 6 years but I will now never go back.
There may be some good employees of TT but many are up to all kind of tricks to extend contracts and making it difficult to cancel.0 -
I moved to Plusnet from From TT in October after a very easy migration. no mac was required and the transfer took place two weeks after order.
The phone was dead for an hour on the morning and BB was reconnected at about 2100. Speed was down initially but regained typical data rates after some days of connection.
You can avoid a long Plusnet lockin if you pay a £25 activation fee which is more than covered by the Topcashback commission. Most routers can be reconfigured to changed ISP so no new one ought to be required.
One last point. TT will probably owe you overpaid advance line rental after leaving. They won't give this back unless you ask so after the final bill set aside fifteen minutes to tune your ear into the accents of at least two continents' call centres. Don't. cancel the direct debit until after the refund.0 -
Moved to plusnet from Talk Talk. They did all the moving for us. The only problems we have had are specifically Talk Talk related (nothing to do with what plusnet did).
Just watch your final few bills as considering they are called Talk Talk they are almost imposible to Talk to....0
