Hi DS1 bought an XBox recently and wanted FIFA 12 to go with it. We searched for the best price and ASDA were advertising Fifa 12 special edition for £27. We drove to our nearest asda (12 miles round trip) but they were out of stock. The sales assistant said that it was still available on line and best to get it from there.
We ordered on 5th Jan and the game arrived today but it is NOT the special edition. I phoned Asda and they said that there was a mistake in the advertising and they would give a £3 evoucher as a goodwill gesture.
I am so angry. How can a company advertise a superior product and then say that they made a mistake and deliver something worth a fraction of the price??
The special edition comes with quite a number of downloadable content that would cost over £15 if bought online.
Any advice please?

Probably because they made a mistake.
They have apologised, and offered you a £3 e-voucher.
Have you notified them of your intent to return the item as they have sent the wrong one?0 -
No. If they've opened the package then it may be exempt from DSRs. Even if not, rejecting under DSRs means OP may be liable for returns postage costs.
Reject under SOGA - sold not as described. Retailer is liable to give a full refund AND is also liable for returns costs. Also means the opening the package issue (if applicable) is circumvented.0
