It's usually cheaper on the net, and even cheaper if you organise it yourself.

    I am a Travel Agent

My company’s ABTA numbers are P6046. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

From my own experiences the quote with the lowest numeric value where it says total is invariably the cheapest option. :)
    The MSE Dictionary
Loophole - A word used to entice people to read clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Rip Off - Clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions - Otherwise known as a loophole or a rip off.

Generally with the package holiday companies their website is the cheapest you can get it. When you book online, you are doing all the work, its directly between you and their reservation system, so you will get the lowest cost.

Booking via an agent, or over the phone with them means there is overheads (like the wages of staff, running of the shop etc) so it will be a little more to justify that.

Most high street agents will match their own companies website prices with a little persuasion but can seldom beat it. You may get airport parking or something thrown in at an agent but not always and thats usually only if you are spending a lot.

I'd try their website, the local shop, and maybe their call centre.

Sweeping generalisations are for those who wish to exclude means of saving money!

As with all things, it depends entirely on what and where. But as ever, compare and contrast. Start online and look at the prices to organise yourself. Then take it to a Tour Op.

If you exclude one method you exclude a way of saving money.
