Great thread clipperty.
I get a buzz knowing that I now have the skills to rustle up healthy meals for my family whatever the budget.
I love sharing grabbits and coupons from the coupon thread with friends and family.the shreddies and Campbell soup vouchers in 2010 were a highlight ie both free and unlimited to a point.
Will be interested to see whether you can apply some of your new skills to the horses, l keep three for less than a packet of fags a day (l keep a spreadsheet!) , got three new new Zealand rugs for eighty quid this summer from Derby house after sale with glitch which was posted on here.

Oo, oakyrose, you have horses, too! Can be a very expensive hobby, can't it, but we made it all cheaper the difficult way - by moving out of Surrey. :rotfl:0

the best feeling i get is when i do look at something for sale and i think "i could make that" which is what my grandma used to say every time we went shopping. I am very proud to be turning out to be a bit like her she was an amazing lady.
Also i really like it when our bin has hardly any rubbish in it because that means we have reused alot and not bought a lot of wasteful packaging.

i get a buzz out of buying bargains too, but even more of a buzz when I worked out today that I saved over 10k since converting to O/S a few years back. That money has been invested in a new bathroom, shower, combi boiler and radiators and this year I will go over to Oz to visit some family, onviously got the tickets on a comparison site at rock bottom price
I think 'being in control' is the buzz we re all getting, not being controlled by convinience shopping
(I am a single working mum with 2 teenagers btw)0 -
I have many things, I love having a cleaning blitz and it being tidy and organised in no time because I put in the effort to have a place for everything so it's just a case of the upkeep.
I like shopping but I only buy things if they are an excellent buy and can be put to good use. Similarly my food shop has gone down drastically. I barely spend anything on food in comparison and yet I have fruit/veg/store cupboard and freezer food in abundance.
Creating new meals for pennies, meaning I can afford to save and buy nice things such as my dining table, it was only £130 and yet should have been £400+. Before I would have bought value range table set at £100 that would probably have needed replaced in a much shorter time than I shall need to now.
Seeing my son eat his food and love it whilst a) it cost next to nothing and b) it is great for him. Also means we can afford more treats than we used to be able to.
Probably the last one is seeing something and knowing I could hand make it either food or otherwise and it costing a heck of a lot cheaper.
I also love that I grown my own herbs, fruit and veg (only a small amount but saves me money and my son learns where food comes from).
All in all love MSE, especially OS I have saved SO much money and have lovely things that are needed in my house.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

The thing I love about MSE is that when you have an obscure question to ask, there is somewhere to ask it and helpful and knowledgeable people who will reply. I recently asked a question about my internet usage and got a post from the official Plusnet rep who actually took some action for me and saved me some money, which was hugely helpful. But almost whatever you ask, you get useful and helpful replies.Life is mainly froth and bubble

I get a buzz when I find cheap magazines in charity shops, it doesn't happen very oftern, to many people recycling I guess. :rotfl: Cheap Carry On films on Video or DVD for a giggle.
Looking at "bargins" in supermarkets that I don't need and saying to myself "no, waste of money" and walking off
Transfering money to various savings pots for holidays or rainy days.0
